Walks are for sighthounds only, and generally held once a month starting at 11:00 hours.  Please be aware that some attending can be nervous and not used to meeting other breeds of dogs. If you have a nervous dog please ensure it’s muzzled, and please keep all dogs on the lead at all times. Dog waste to be bagged and responsibly disposed of. There are many people behind the scenes making these walks a success - it’s a massive team effort, so come and join us - everyone welcome.

This year, Retired Greyhounds South Lakes is pleased to announce that the Holker Hall Estate has kindly given us permission to organise the Great Global Greyhound Walk on their grounds. Taking place on Sunday 27th September from Holker Hall, Cark, Grange-over-Sands LA11 7PL. Starting at 11:00 am from the Holker Hall visitor's car park we will all park down the right hand fork as you enter the car park.

The walk will take place in the deer park, just outside the formal gardens. We’ll follow a fully accessible track on a gentle 1-mile route, taking in the beautiful grounds of the estate along the way.

The car park is free, and £1 a hound collection is at the start of the walk with all proceeds going to Retired Greyhounds South Lakes. On this occasion we won’t be serving refreshments with there being a cafe on site.

The RGSL van will have a selection of merchandise for sale including our 2027 calendars, Christmas raffle tickets, Time20, T-shirts, 100% waterproof outdoor coats and summer rain macs in sizes 18" to 32", martingale collars, leads, Anne Welding’s unique hand made birthday, blank and other greeting cards plus much more! Please ring me if you need anything specific so we can ensure its on the van as we can’t bring everything.
