2026 GGGW at Holker Hall

118 hounds and their humans at Holker Hall, Cark, Cumbria on the 27th September 2026

Retired Greyhounds South Lakes (RGSL) took part in the annual Great Global Greyhound Walk last Sunday at Holker Hall, Cark, Cumbria.  118 hounds and their humans braved the showery weather to help us raise £1,026.29.
From 748 walks held worldwide with 16,696 hounds in attendance RGSL were the 16th best attended in the world, 5th best in England and 6th in the UK.
May we thank everyone who attended for making it such a success, to Holker Hall for allowing us to hold our walk there, to Lucia for arranging things with the Hall along with everyone else who helped organise things both behind the scenes, and on the day.  It was a super day, lovely to see everyone with their dogs, and I’m sorry if I didn’t get chance to speak with you all.  Thank you to those who took photographs ensuring lovely memories of the day, which I love to see with me being around the RGSL ambulance and stall all the time.
Please put Sunday 26th September 2027 in your diaries when we will be at Holker Hall once again for the 2027 annual walk.  Please join us come rain or shine with your hounds to see if we can beat this year’s figures.  Thank you all once again for a super, if somewhat damp day.
Our next monthly walk will be on Sunday 18th October on Walney Island, Barrow-in-Furness.
